The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 of 13 (To update)

The Book of Nehemiah

 Chapter

 5

¹ Now there was a great outcry of the people and of their wives against their Jewish kin.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 1)

Oh God, my Father, today there is an outcry as a consequence of contracting the Corona Virus. Many people are in panic and are raiding supermarkets and small shops just in case they end up being isolated in their own homes. Many people are fearing the harm or death of the body but no care is being given to the spiritual welfare Amen.

² For there were those who said, "With our sons and our daughters, we are many; we must get grain, so that we may eat and stay alive."

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 2)

Oh God my Father we wish to have power and control over our own lives. The I and the We are becoming common in our use of language. It is as if we have control over our lives. I pray that You make us more aware that You are in the driving seat and not ourselves Amen.

³ There are also those who said, "We are having to pledge our fields, our vineyards, and our houses in order to get grain during the famine."

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 3)

Oh God my Father we have become so selfish that we want to benefit from the opportunities of life, without having to make an inch of sacrifice as payback or thanksgiving. I pray that You heal us my God and Father Amen.

⁴ And there were those who said, "We are having to borrow money on our fields and vineyards to pay the king's tax.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 4)

Oh God my Father during the good times we do not thank You, however, when the not so good times come upon us we are people with a list of thousand complaints. I pray that You change our negative attitude to one that is more positive Amen.

⁵ Now our flesh is the same as that of our kindred; our children the same as their children;  and yet we are forcing our sons and daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters have been ravished; we are powerless, and our fields and vineyards now belong to others."

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 5)

Oh God my Father, we declare that we are a free people, however, this small virus is keeping us locked up in our homes. We say we have superpowers and nuclear warfare and can control the destiny of future generations by pressing one button, however, a small virus is disabling our economy and potential. Oh God by means of this virus You are showing us that we have no control over our selves and our future. The future is in Your hands Amen.

⁶ I was very angry when I heard their outcry and these complaints.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 6)

Oh God my Father I also cannot stand being in the presence of negative people, who tend to complain about many things and almost never give thanks to You for all the goodness that they have received from You Amen.

⁷ After thinking it over, I brought charges against the nobles and the officials; I said to them, "You are all taking interest from your own people." And I called a great assembly to deal with them, ⁸ and said to them, "As far as we were able, we have bought back our Jewish kindred who had been sold to other nations; but now you are selling your own kin, who must then be bought back by us! They were silent and could not find a word to say.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 7 to 8)

Oh God my Father I thank You for sending us good leaders who by which You raise our awareness of both our positive actions and even of those areas that still need much work Amen.

⁹ So I said, "The thing that you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God, to prevent the taunts of the nations our enemies?

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 9)

Oh God my Father I pray that we stop and think about our daily lives and question the value behind the actions that we do, and if we do not find a valid reason or value, we be brave enough to challenge that practice, so that our values will always be aligned with Yours my God and Father Amen.

¹⁰ Moreover I and my brothers and my servants are lending them money and grain. Let us stop this taking of interest.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 10)

Oh God my Father bless such generous people who do not lend people money or things with the intention of making a profit from them. I pray that we become a more generous world who is always ready to help those in need Amen.

¹¹ Restore to them, this very day, their fields, their vineyards, their olive orchards, and their houses, and the interest on money, grain, wine, and oil that you have been exacting from them."

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 11)

Oh God, my Father, Your justice supersedes our form of justice. When Your hand is at work there is full compensation of the injustice that had been carried out as in verse 11. Let us all be just when dealing with others both of our own circles and even with others. Amen.

¹² Then they said, "We will restore everything and demand nothing more from them. We will do as you say". And I called the priests, and made them take an oath to do as they had promised.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 12)

Oh God my Father I pray that we be held responsible for what we believe in for our faith and our vows taken on our behalf at the time of our baptism and later on confirmed before Your people. Amen. I pray that we be responsible and committed Catholics and Christians Amen.

¹³ I also shook out the fold of my garment and said, "So may God shake out everyone from house and from property who does not perform this promise, Thus may they be shaken out and emptied." And all the assembly said, "Amen," and praised the LORD. And the people did as they had promised.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 13)

Oh God my Father I am not good at keeping promises so I do not promise anybody. My life is so subject to change that I cannot even make appointments and promise to keep them. I pray to become more committed to both You and humanity Amen.

¹⁴ Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year to the thirty-second year of King Artaxerxes, twelve years, neither I nor my brothers ate the food allowance of the governor.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 14)

Oh God my Father I pray that if we are given a raise or a promotion we never forget from where we started and never use our power against others but for others Amen.

¹⁵ The former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens on the people, and took food and wine from them, besides forty shekels of silver, Even their servants lorded it over the people, But I did not do so.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 5 verse 15)

Dear God my Father honesty has always been the best policy and those who make it an integral part of their life in management and in all sectors of service to others are blessed by this virtue. Amen.

The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 of 13

The Book of Nehemiah

 Chapter

 4

¹ Now when Sanballat heard that we were building the wall, he was angry and greatly enraged, and he mocked the Jews.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 1)

Oh God, my Father, the evil one goes crazy when he sees us doing good things according to Your will Amen.

² He said in the presence of his associates and of the army of Samaria, "What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they finish it in a day? Will they revive the stones out of the heeps of rubbish-and burned ones at that?

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 2)

Oh God my Father many times sarcasm is used against others in order to criticize and rebuke those with whom we are not in accord. However, when doing so we are focusing on the negative and not on the positive. I pray that we refrain from using such ways and empower others instead of criticizing or reprimanding them unjustly amen.

³ Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, "That stone wall they are building-any fox going up on it would break it down!"

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 3)

Oh God, my Father, many times we may think we have a healthy life of prayer, that are lines of spiritual defence are enough to stand the challenges of the evil one, however, in truth, we cannot live without a constant update in your relationship with us Amen. I pray oh God that we remain true and constant in our prayer life and in how we relate with each other which is the barometer of our Catholic and Christian life which based on love towards You and others Amen.

⁴ Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their taunt back on their own heads, and give them over as plunder in a land of captivity.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 4)

Oh God my blessed Father, instead of praying for the worst to overcome those who do not approve of me or hate me, I pray for them that you heal them from their negative thoughts feelings and wishes that they may be holding against me Amen.

⁵ Do notܑ cover their guilt, and do not let their sin be blotted out from your sight; for they have hurled insults in the face of the builders.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 5)

Oh God my blessed Father, may we always be aware of our sins because if not we may think we are sinless and become proud by ourselves and focus more on our successes than on our sins. I pray that we thank You for our successes and also our weakness, for when we are weak in ourselves we give You the opportunity of showing Your strength in us Amen.

⁶ So we rebuilt the wall, and all the wall was joined together to half its height; for the people had a mind to work.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 6)

Oh God my Father when we are united in mind heart and spirit we are a beauty to be seen and we are very productive for the good of humanity, I pray that this sense of unity will always be present in us, I thank You for such a gift Amen.

⁷But when Sanballat and Tobiah and the Arabs and the Ammonites and the Ashdodites heard that the repairing of the walls of Jerusalem were going forward and the gaps were beginning to be closed, they were very angry, ⁸ and all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and to cause confusion in it.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verses 7 to 8)

Oh God, my father, brothers and sisters, Satan does the same thing to us. On seeing that there is growth in Your relationship with us, this evil spirit causes a crisis in our lives so that we take it against You my God and Father for even though we seem to be living a good and righteous life, we still experience such tribulations. Some may be of the false impression that the closer we get to God or He gets to us which is more correct, the fewer tribulations befall us, however, this is not true because we are works in progress, and works need to be tested and evaluated in order to prove their potential Amen. Thank You, Jesus.

⁹ So we prayed to our God, and set a guard as a protection against them day and night.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 9)

Oh God my Father even though it is good to protect our belongings and even more our family, it is even better to protect ourselves from ourselves. It is useful to place a guard over our mouths in order to protect ourselves and others from what we think to do and say Amen.

¹⁰ But Judah said, "The strength of the burden bearers is failing, and there is too much rubbish so that we are unable to work on the wall."

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 10)

Oh God, my Father I thank You for the wisdom that You give us in order not to place our energy totally on the problem but also on the solution. I thank You for giving us the ability to come up with insight and reflection so that we are able to solve the challenges that the world sets before us, as well as pass the tests that You also set before us for our own good Amen.

¹¹ And our enemies said, "They will not know or see anything before we come upon them and kill them and stop the work."

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 11)

Oh God, this is also what our evil enemies say. Satan sees that we are alienated in our daily life, estranged from our spiritual practice of faith and practice with our guard down. During such a moment of weakness, the evil spirits choose to attack us. Therefore I pray that we be consistent in our life of prayer, in our relationship with God our father, and never let our protective guard down Amen.

¹² When the Jews who lived near them came, they said to us ten times, "From all the places where they live they will come up against us."

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 12)

Our spiritual enemies oh brothers and sisters will also attempt to attack us from all sides, therefore we are to ask the Holy Spirit for His protection so that we remain firm in our faith during moments of crises Amen.

¹³ So in the lowest parts of the space behind the wall, in open places, I stationed the people according to their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 13)

Oh God, my Father, I pray that you arm us with the armoury of the Holy Spirit because the wars against Christianity are becoming more subtle but intense. Amen.

¹⁴ After I looked these things over, I stood up and said to the nobles and the officials and the rest of the people, "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the LORD who is great and awesome, and fight for your kin, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes."

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 14)

For those of us who are experiencing stressful and difficult situations be aware that you are not alone. There is our awesome God by our side. He will fight the battles for us as he did before and He is always victorious Amen.

Therefore let us join in prayer to our Awesome God Amen credit to Hub of Worship

¹⁵ When our enemies heard that their plot was known to us, and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to his work.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verse 15)

Oh brothers and sisters, even though we are persecuted by the evil spirits of the world, we are not to be discouraged, but we are all to continue in the role that God our Father has entrusted to us Amen.

¹⁶ From that day on, half of my servants worked on construction, and half held the spears, shields, bows, and body-armour; and the leaders posted themselves behind the whole house of Judah, ¹⁷ who were building the wall. The burden bearers carried their loads in such a way that each laboured on the work with one hand and with the other held a weapon.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verses 16 to 17)

Oh God, my Father brothers and sisters You have all given us a special role in the building and maintaining of the Roman Catholic Church and even the other churches. Our weapon are the Bible, the blessed sacraments and the Rosary along with the faith the armour of the Holy Spirit. Let us all live our daily lives but on the other hand, remain on guard against the forces of evil both inside and beyond us Amen.

¹⁸ And each of the builders had his sword strapped at his side while he built.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verses 18)

Oh God my Father, when I am working I also have my weapon strapped to my side. I have a small pocket-size Bible that is always with me Amen.

¹⁹ And I said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, "The work is great and widely spread out, and we are separated far from one another on the wall.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verses 19)

And I also say to those who are all working in the field of Jesus Christs, catechists, teachers, ministers healers, priests even though we are separated in different countries we are all united in one Spirit which keeps us united believing in one God Amen. We stick together to rise together and even cry together if necessary.

²⁰ Rally to us wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet. Our God will fight for us".

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verses 20)

Oh God, my Father I pray that You make me sensitive to Your voice, to be on the lookout like a sentry on patrol to listen to You speaking by means of Your Word or by means of significant others Amen. I pray that as always You will fight my wars for me. You know that tomorrow is a big day for me in front of the tribunal, and I know that You are going to be my advocate and may Your will be done Amen.

²¹ So we labored at the work, and half of them held the spears from break of dawn until the stars came out.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verses 21)

Oh God, my Father I pray for those monastic nuns and friars who spend night after night in prayer on behalf of all the people of God spread throughout the world. Bless these people and their time of prayer oh God my Father Amen.

²²  I also said to the people at that time, "Let every man and his servant pass the night inside Jerusalem so that they may be a guard for us by night and may labor by day."

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verses 22)

Oh brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, I ask of you that every day we find some time to offer prayer and thanksgiving to God our Father, and also offer a prayer for each other, so that we all have a protective shield of prayer for each other in action Amen.

²³ So neither I nor my brothers nor my servants nor the men of the guard who followed me ever took off our clothes; each kept his weapon in his right hand.

(The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4 verses 23)

Oh God, my Father may we always be on guard over ourselves and over the spiritual welfare of others especially those who form part of our inner circles. I pray that we remain alert against negative thoughts and feelings that try to take over our mind Amen.

Oh God, my Father, I would like to end this meditation on the fourth chapter of the book of Nehemiah with the following prayer:-

Oh God, my Father the Roman Catholic Church in 2020 is still in a stage of maintenance and upgrading, for the evil one never stops testing us and therefore we are always to be on guard and ready firm in prayer and faith. I pray that we pray for each other to remain united, for Pope Francesco whom God appointed as our spiritual leader and for all the leaders of the world so that they fulfil Your will diligently and in righteousness for the good of all Amen,

The Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3

The book of Nehemiah

 Chapter

 3

¹ Then the high priest Eliashib set to work with his fellow priests and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They consecrated it and set up its doors; they consecrated it as far as the Tower of the Hundred and as far as the Tower of Hananel.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 1)

Oh God my Father at times we may plan to do many things and have many projects in mind, however before we set our minds to accomplish that work we need to pray on the issue in order to discern if this is Your will or not. If it is according to Your will the plan will eventually unfold and we reach our planned goal that covers where we stand before the intervention takes place, to the situation or state that we wish to achieve as the consequence of that intervention.

Oh God although I am sharing this issue as You know the last time I intervened I listened more to the voice of others than to Yours and now I am experiencing, the consequences of that decision. I  also planned to have a better outcome than that of the present, however, on the way, You showed me that although the grass looked greener and tastier on the other side, in substance it was still grass. You also showed me that also the outcome seemed to be a haven, there is only one heaven, and this can only be in Your presence and not on earth Amen. Oh God, I pray that You help me in reversing the decision that I made by giving me a second chance Amen.

² And the men of Jericho built next to him. And next to them Zaccur son of Imri built. ³ The sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate; they laid its beams and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verses 2 to 3)

Oh God one positive action encourages us to copy that action and this may lead to the accomplishment of many projects of which others may benefit. I pray oh God my Father, that I may be of a good example to many others, so that many good works may be accomplished in Your name Amen. May I always be a trustworthy instrument in Your hand Amen.

⁴ Next to them Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz made repairs. Next to them Meshullam son of Berechiah son of Meshezabel made repairs. Next to them Zedok son of Baana made repairs. ⁵Next to them the Tekoites made repairs; but their nobles would not put their shoulders to the work of their Lord.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verses 4 to 5)

Oh God my Father, You have given us different talents, roles and skills even in the Church. There are those who are builders, others who are teachers and others who are priests, and bishops and the Pope. I pray that we fulfil our roles even if we are parents like myself Amen.

⁶ Joiada son of Paseah and Meshullam son of Besodeiah repaired the Old Gate; they laid its beams and set up its doors, its bolts and its bars.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 6)

Many times oh God my beloved Father we look at the present issues or problems and try to act on intervening on the present situation, without ever considering that the root of the problem is found in our past in relation to issues that we had experienced long ago and that are still pending, because we had not ever dealt with them. Therefore as a point of beginning the work we are to go back and repair these issues so that then we can start the actual process of rebuilding our self  and making our life more spiritually and emotionally secure by setting up the bolts and bars of our life. Amen.

⁷ Next to them repairs were made by Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite-the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah-who were under the jurisdiction of the governor of the province Beyond the River.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 7)

Oh God my beloved Father, the good example that You set by means of the High Priest Eliashib sparked off a hive of activity in the maintenance and reconstruction process. I thank You for such leaders who set up organizations that are still flourishing to this very day such as the M.U.S.E.U.M in Malta and similar volontary organizations  in many other countries that are greatly contributing for the good of society. Amen.

⁸ Next to them Uzziel son of Harhiah, one of the goldsmiths, made repairs. Next to him Hananiah, one of the perfumers, made repairs; and they restored Jerusalem as far as the Broad Wall.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 8)

Oh God my beloved Father, by ourselves in our personal life and in the life of the Church there is maybe so much that one can achieve, however if we join forces with others with the help of the Holy Spirit who is alive in the Church we can reach many important aims for the good of all humanity Amen.

⁹ Next to them Rephaiah son of Hur, ruler of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 9)

Oh God my Father, when others see us trying to help out even in our inner circles, and even for the common good, they will also become motivated in participating. I pray that we all be motivated in helping others and be of one mind and spirit Amen.

¹⁰ Next  to them Jedaiah son of Harumaph made repairs opposite his house; and next to him Hattush son of Hashabneiah made repairs.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 10)

Oh God my Father even though a group of people may begin their relationships as distant acquaintances or friends, when working together with the same aim in mind, a brotherhood is created that has very strong bonds. When we work with others for Your love, and with the same intention the ties become stronger because the ties are both spiritual and psychological Amen.

¹¹ Malchijah son of Harim and Hasshub son of Pahath-moab repaired another section and the Tower of the Ovens.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 11)

Oh God my Father, many times my oven tower becomes overheated, and I lose control of myself and become angry and later depressed. Cases are being dumped on me without my being directly informed and this is not fair. I pray oh God that You help me to cope with the heat of this situation Amen.

¹² Next to him Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of half the district of Jerusalem made repairs, he and his daughters.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 12)

Oh God my beloved Father as Shallum and his daughters worked on the needed repairs, I also need to work on making the necessary repairs on our relationship, which is negatively biased by my wife who has turned her against me Amen.

¹³ Hamun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the Valley Gate; they rebuilt it and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars, and repaired a thousand cubits of the wall, as far as the Dung Gate.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 13)

Oh God my Father in time the old city of Jerusalem was being repaired. Every day of my life my God and Father, You help me in repairing different areas of my life until You make me into a whole person as You wish me to be Amen. Blueprints of the Old City of Jerusalem

¹⁴ Malehijah son of Rechab, ruler of the district of Beth-haccheron, repaired the Dung Gate; he rebuilt and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 14)

Oh God my beloved Father, I pray that You help me in securing all my gates, since the forces of evil are trying to enter from all of my gates, I pray that I will not be found weak by the enemy Amen.

¹⁵ And Shallum son of Colhozeh, ruler of the district of Mizpah, repaired the Fountain Gate; he rebuilt it and covered it and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars; and he built the wall of the Pool of Shelah of the king's garden, as far as the stairs that go down from the City of David.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 15)

Oh God, my beloved Father, even to this day the Roman Catholic Church is still being repaired and in a state of reconstruction. Pope Francesco is constantly driven by Your Spirit to challenge and update new issues such as that of migrants among others. I pray that You give him the Faith, Strength, and Wisdom in order to continue this process of maintenance Amen.

¹⁶ After him Nehemiah son of Azbuk, ruler of half the district of Beth-zur repaired from a point opposite the graves of David, as far as the artificial pool and the house of the warriors.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 16)

Oh God my Father, I pray that all the rulers of the world will invest in repairing the damage done to the planet such as global warming and other forms of damage, instead of investing in nuclear weapons may a spirit of unity unite all nations to embark on such a project Amen.

¹⁷ After him the Levites made repairs; Rehum son of Bani; next to him Hashabiah ruler of half the district of Keilah, made repairs for his district.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 17)

Oh God my blessed Father as in the case of the Levites, the Church in Malta is active in many projects such as homelessness and drug addiction. I pray that it receives more respect than criticism for it plays an important role in society Amen.

¹⁸ After him their kin made repairs; Binnui, son of Henadad, ruler of half the district of Keilah; ¹⁹ next to him Ezer son of Jeshua, ruler of Mizpah, repaired another section opposite the ascent to the armory at the Angle.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verses 18 and 19)

Oh God my Father, slowly but the surely the structure was being repaired, and all were contributing according to their skills and talents that You had given them. I also work in progress. You are carrying out maintenance, on my body, mind and spirit every day of my life Amen. Thank You Jesus Amen.

²⁰ After him Baruch son of Zabbai repaired another section from the Angle to the door of the house of the high priest Eliashib.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 20)

Oh God my Father, as You well know when we work in a team it is always better because as we are more in numbers we strengthen each other as in the case of the 12 Apostles. May we always empower and encourage each other Amen.

²¹ After him Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz repaired another section from the door of the house of Eliashib to the end of the house of Eliashib.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 21)

Oh God my Father, I pray that You continue helping me to identify those areas in my life that need repairing and please give me what it takes to make the necessary changes Amen. Thank You Jesus.

²² After him the priests, the men of the surrounding area made repairs.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 22)

Oh God my Father, I offer my prayers for priests for they have been given the keys to forgive and abstain from forgiving sins, they have been given the opportunity of making repairs in the Roman Catholic Chairs that is badly in need of maintenance. I pray for the power of the Holy Spirit Amen who is the Master Builder Amen.

²³ After them Benjamin and Hasshub made repairs opposite their house. After them Azariah son of Maaselah son of Ananiah made repairs beside his own house.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 23)

Oh God my beloved Father, the example of one person encourages others to follow in their steps. As in faith and the living of the Way, the fire of the Holy Spirit continues to be rekindled in others who receive even the smallest spark from either words of Scripture, or maybe even the good deeds that we do to each other Amen.

²⁴ After him Binnui son of Henadad repaired another section, from the house of Azariah to the Angle and to the corner.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verse 24)

Oh God my beloved Father the work on the restoration was in progress, for everyone was united by one constructive Spirit. The fire of Your Holy Spirit is always alive in us in order to be constructive and productive. I pray for Your help in my situation my God and Father Amen

.

²⁵ Palal son of Uzai repaired opposite the Angle and the tower projecting from the upper house of the king at the court of the guard. After him Pedaiah son of Parosh ²⁶ and the temple servants living on Ophel made repairs up to a point opposite the Water Gate on the east and the projecting tower.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verses 25 to 26)

Oh God my Father, we are works in progress in the sense that we all need love care and support from each other, by being of support to others and by receiving support from others. Everybody has the duty to carry out constructive maintenance  on others while taking care not to harm the foundations, that is our faith in You my God and Father Amen.

²⁷ After him the Tekoites repaired another section opposite the great projecting tower as far as the wall of Ophel. ²⁸ Above the Horse Gate the priests made repairs, each one opposite his own house.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verses 27 to 28)

Oh God my Father it was nice of the priests to take an active role in the repairing of the temple, as role models of our society Your people have a great influence on human behaviour especially in a wounded society that is greatly in need of order and leadership Amen.

²⁹ After them Zadok son of Immer made repairs opposite his own house. After him Hananiah son of Shelmiah and Hanun sixth son of Zalaph repaired another section. After him Meshullam son of Berechiah made repairs opposite his living quarters. ³¹ After him Malchijah, one of the goldsmiths, made repairs as far as the house of the temple servants and the merchants, opposite the Muster Gate, and to the upper room of the corner. ³² And between the upper room of the corner and the Sheep Gate the goldsmiths and the merchants made repairs.

(Book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 verses 29 to 32)

Oh God my beloved Father, with the effort of all, the project was brought to an end. I pray that we be 'can do' people who do not turn away from the opportunity to lend a hand Amen.

Oh God my beloved Father I would like to end this meditation on the third chapter of the book of Nehemiah with the following prayer:

Oh God my Father and all my sisters and brothers in Christ Jesus. I pray that we be positive and constructive people who aim to seek the good of others as much or even more than our own. I pray that we be aware of the needs of others and either personally or as a group take action to help that person or persons. Let none of us be in need and without support. Let us all be Jesus to each other. Jesus who always made time for others and even walked the extra mile and go out of his way in order to help others Amen.
